my isuzu has a 90 rear end, it's 56 i believe. definently narrower than stock. personally, the wheel selection is a LOT better of course for 5 lug. other than that, the front conversion was a pain in the ass apparently. i'm kind of wishing i'd kept 6 lug now.

do the 5 lug, even if you redrill the hubs and axles.

Here is a comparison I use all the time.

Custom 18" 6 lug billets that tuck - $1600 bucks + tires. There are MAYBE 50 styles to chose from, and billet needs polished. Billet hoops bend too.

Redrill by Mike Brott to 5 lug $450 with shipping. ANY KIND OF CHROME 18" FWD 5 lug, like 2000 different styles, whels and tires on ebay start at $800 a set, and average $1100 a set FOR BOTH WHEELS AND TIRES.

so, $1600 for just wheels that you are 70 times more likely to see on every other 6 lug truck and are expensive to replace, or average $1550 for the 5 lug conversion with tires AND wheels, and change your wheels as often as you like.

The 89-95 toyota rear is roughly an inch narrower on each side than the mazda.

thanks again for your help. i like that comparison, never heard it before, definitely makes it seem worth it. i never knew how much redrilling was, so guess i need to start saving. oh yeah, do you know the downtime, roughly?
