As everyone should know I did a motor swap in my s10. Well when I was ready to start it I found that the shifter said the transmission is in neutral but I can't make it go into reverse or park. It goes into drive, over-drive blah blah blah. (auto-tranni) So I figure the gear selector on the transmission is not matching with the dash. I'm not sure how to adjust it and how do I tell what gear the transmission is in when I do? also, because of this crap I can't turn the key to start popsition or to off position. So I can only turn it to one of the on positions. Has anybody experienced this before and what did you do.

down next to the tranny is a coller it goes over a rod that goes up to the coloum on the engine side there is a bolton the coller losen the blot and the coller will silde up and down on the rod wile its loose put the selctor in park in the cab then down on the tranny were the shifter hooks to it move the lever all the way forward that should also move the coller on the rod when the tranny is in park or all the way forward tighten the bolt on the coller and try the shifter continue through this till you can get all the gaers i dont have a camera or id post some pics but this should solve your problem instant message me with any questions cause im running low on post
