I have a 1988 F250 with A 460 Fuel Injected Motor. A water pump bolt broke off and my bolt extractor broke off in the bolt. I guess I need to take the timing chain cover off and remove the bolt that way. Can I drop the oil pan without pulling the motor up? Any suggestions would be great.

to take the timgin cover off, you should be able to BUT to change the gasket once you drop it... idk mite have to raise the motor.

Well, I have all the gaskets I need. Finally. But I dont want to start unbolting the oil pan and find out I need to raise the motor. Does anyone know if it will inbolt and slide out since its an I Beam 2wd there isnt much clearance under the oil pan.

Just unbolt your motor mounts and raise it an inch or so with a cherry picker to get the clearence you need. You can put a small chunk of 2x4 inbetween the mounts and frame to keep it up while you work.
