Ok, so I just smashed the hell out of the front end of my 2001 Pathfinder LE. Apparently hitting a meridian at 95km/h is not good for the undercarraige. Anyone ever convert these 4x4's to 2wd? Any suggestions?

get a front stub off of a 2wd pickup, take some measurements and weld it on....of course its been done before...maybe not a pathfinder like this but its been done.

done it.

first off, nothing from any other nissan will work. pathfinders are unibody, with mac struts.
youve got to remove your entire front axle.(or at least the half shafts.but why not take it all out, its only 8 bolts and a drive shaft.)
then take the dust cap off the hub and remove the axle clip.
machine a sleeve to fit in the old axle hole and weld a round plate to the end of it the size of the cv joint you just removed.
tack weld the sleeve/plate into the axle hole, then silicone the outside to prevent any dust from getting into the bearings.
then remove the shifter from the transfer case.

or if you want to fix it ill sell you my entire 01 front 4x4 assembly.

Hey Psyco, did you used to own a 1983 Coupe Deville as well? Burgundy in color?
Psycopath   +1y
yea, my current caddy is a bronze 80 with a euro clip, but i did have a stock burgandy 83 few years ago for a short time.

Right before the blue one with hydros? I think your old caddy is sitting in my driveway, and just became my daily driver.

the blue one is now bronze. i didnt know the burgandy one was still around.
you in s'toon.

Yeh, Im from Stoon. Been wanting to turn the caddy into a lowlow for a long damn time. I just need money, space, tools, and time. If the Pathfinder is a total loss, I might turn my attention to a big ol dually if i can find one. I just got hooked up as a retailer for Mac Springs products, so things might get a little less costly. Plus we do our own notches and brackets, so I might finally get something done.

if you need any help or parts with either pathfinder or caddy just pm me.

i also have a parts car caddy if you need anything, but as i remember i had replaced most of the damaged trim on that one before i sold it.(except the quarter panel and the axe mark in the hood)
