I have a 86 yota p/u 2wd with a 22r and a manual trans. I am thinking about putting a 7m gte out of a mkII supra in it. Will the trans bolt up to the 7m gte? Also im guessing that i would need to make some motor mount adapters?

The motor will not bolt up directly, but if you use the bellhousing from the 7mgte manual trans (I can't remember the pn.) it will bolt up. If you need the number, IM me and I will check for you, I have one in the shop.

The transmission you need is a W58 out of a 7mge NA supra or a R154 from a 7mgte turbo supra. The tranny from your truck will not work plus it's not strong enough for the turbo motor. I would go with the R154 or the W58 with a good clutch setup. You will also need the motor plates from a 5mge MKii supra, the ones that bolt to the side of the block, and you can bolt the 22r mounts to them, this will locate the engine in the right place.

The bell housing will work on the stock trans, just won't handle the power, right?
Do you know where I can get an adapter for a 7mgte motor to a TH400 trans?

try over @ www.lextreme.com you might have to get it imported though... i can't find anyone state side that does em at the moment.
