As long as you have all the suspension parts... shouldnt be hard. My buddy had a crew cab and switched to 1/2 ton suspension to run 5 lug wheels.

the upper control arms and mounts are differnt on 4x4 and 2wd.... and the hubs are different also.... but if you ever plan onrunning semi wheels id hang on to the arms and to make em tuck up in there nice

The front frame section is different on four wheel drives...you cant just swap over the parts

well if you gonna bd it its simple take all the measurements from your 4wd frame and build a new frame using the front clip of the 2wd

I do believe the frames are quite different from 2wd to 4wd in those years. I have built spindles to just what you are asking. If you (me) just built a set of custom dropped spindles to bolt on to the 4wd suspension, it would make your life fairly easy.

the frames are very differnt it would take a bit of fabrication to change over also your 89 is it a reg cab if it is you have to cut the frame down move the rear suspension forward to fit the box
