bout too do my tailgate skin...but i dont wanna use bondo...what is strong for smoothin out over welds before layin down the evercoat filler????

evercoat fiberglass filler dont forget to seal the welds on the inside of the bed to or it will rust out from the insdie out.

evercoat. besides lead there isnt an all "metal" filler

If you dont want to use a filler or lead. Grind your weld like normal, and use a body file. The only problem with that is you need to have a pretty good bead. Or you'll still have to use a filler.

where can i get lead at??...and hard is it to apply?

dude use filler. its not gona hurt anything. obvisouly youve never done body work and sheet metal these days is to THIN for lead work also you gota know exactly how to do the metal for lead to even stick.

i agree a little filler is ok. not more than a 1/4 inch or so thick. or there is a product called allmetal, its like bondo but has metal not plastic in the resin. on the downside it cost almost twice as much

Ive used it plenty of times before, and to shave my 3rd brake light. So no it's not to thin.

But it's definitely cheaper to just use some type of fiberglass reinforced filler for the job.
