I tried looking around first but there's not a whole lot out there that could help me out.

I'm picking up a 1998-ish Taco (that body style) and I don't know too much about them yet.

Can I go to the rockers on 22s? Any major obstacles when building a Taco to lay rockers? Coming from a Ranger, the whole front frame/suspension was a MAJOR issue in doing anything larger than 20s. So, any big issues I need to know about before diving into this thing?

Stuff like tubbing the firewall and relocating stuff doesn't matter, I'm talking about bigger, more complicated stuff.

Lemme have it.

Thanks.

well sir, moving your steering rack up an inch or two wouldn't hurt, the tie rods cant take the big bind of extreme articulation of runnin big wheels. building new upper control arms and mounts is most likely needed, new lower control arm is a must, if its a standard, the clutch master cylinder has to be completely removed and re-located, the brake booster is too big to lay on 22's so u'll have to relocate it or get a much smaller one, geo metro brake boosters fit nicely. the electrical might as well be moved under the dash cause there wont be enough room to keep it under the hood if you keep a battery up front. yes there will be some very extensive tubbing to be done. i know 20's will fit but i've never tried a 22 so it'll be all on you. the main problem will be the locating/trailing arm on the lower control arm, it needs to be cut and a heim joint put in it, the upper control arm definitely needs uni-balls, and the steering rack because of the tie rods not wanting to take much articulation. get your steering links(tie rods) to not bind up, and keep your upper and lower control arms from binding up and they should fit and lay. P.M. or e-mail me. i kinda know a thing or two about taco's

I dont know with some of the new tires out but I am pretty sure the tires will stick up past the bed rail. I remember measuring once and being dissapointed.
