i am purchacing a bagged and bodydropped 2001 chevy withou a motor and tranny and i was wonder if i should go with th stock 5.3 or something like a 396.

i got a wiring harness for my 350 its called its a snap it was only 140 bucks shipped and its the same quality as painless but yea carb`d is the way to go

im trading a motorcycle for it. have you seen it? i have a 2000 that i ahve been collecting parts for and so i will just use my parts for that one.

I have been considering the same thing. I have a 4.8 in there now but when I do the custom frame thing, I have been seriously considering the 6.0 or a 350carb. One major disadvantage to carb engine is that you aren't going to pass inspection

thats basically all it comes down to, whether or not you have to pass any type of emissions in your area.
Here in Ontario, its considered a hotrod if you have a motor that wasn't a factory option, so its based on 1980 standards, which was a locking gas cap.
