as best as i can remember, there are no screws on that bodystles dash piece. i think the ring around the key cylinder pops off when the dash piece pops off though, be careful not to lose it, but it just snaps right back on too

do u have to take the whole dash out? how do u get the ring around the key cylinder off? y cant they be as easy as a firt gen s-10 lol.

theyre easier...justgrab the plastic piece at one of the bottom corners and gently pull and/or pry it out...theres no screws to take out like those s10s...whe you pull off the dash piece, the ring goes with it. you will see when you get it off...then i believe it is 2 screws holding in the radio and there you have it...youll probably need metra part no 99-3300 installation kit, 70-1858 wiring harness, and 40-gm10 antenna adapter...it will be a pie job when you get these parts

yeah i told my buddy to get all that and id do it for free. i told him 25 lol joking. he said one guy wanted to do it for 60 an hour and it would take 2 hours. i told him to go to advanced and get the wiring kit and the insulation kit. i think i could make money around her cause i could do it cheaper then a proshop. have to learn more about amps and how to hide the wiring.

yeah just be careful...ive been doing it professionally for about 6 years now and ive seen a lot of "cheaper than proshop" jobs that have damn near burned cars to the ground, royally screwed every interior panel up, and blown up some expensive equipment. generally speaking, it is better to have a pro do it if you have any doubts in your ability...but, it should take nowhere near 2 hours to do that car...at my shop, it would be a flat deck install rate of 50 bux

yeah i put my own cd player in my s-10. it took almost 2 days because of the trim piece. lol. the wiring wasnt a problem. just the trim lol. got any advice about hooking an amp up. i know they have kits for the 4 gauge wires kits. i have a 600 watt amp and 2 speakers and still aint hooked them up because i cant afford the wire lol. i work at a pizza place lol. i know u have to run the remote wire and the one from the battery. then the wire to the speakers. any other advice.

thats about it..make sure you run the ground wire to a strong piece of cleaned metal i.e. floorboard or cab wall, fuse the main battery power wire, and RUN IT THROUGH THE FIREWALL...not through the doorjamb
