I'm putting in a 302 v8 into an 88 b2200 and the supports for the lower arms and torsion bars are right where the motor mounts need to be. What would be the best way to get around this?I know that there are a few guys on here with different v8 swaps.

go with a chevy 350. i done 1 a year ago it was easy. used 91 camaro motor mounts. stock crossmember on tranny just sectioned it. stock driveshaft. changed yoke to chevy at tranny end. stock wiring harness. and fit a normal fan on it too.

also used stock manifolds

Ok this does not sound correct . Please explain better and i could help with the swap since i have done it . The Torsion Bar attaches to the Lower Control Arm way out of the way of the Mounts when this Swap is usually done .

I measured out for the 302 already, and the mounts are pretty much right even with the LCA mounts. I was also planning on going with CanDo tubular arms and swapping the front out to Toyota spindles. I'm trying to set the motor back a little bit so the truck isn't too front heavy, and thats probably whats making things difficult.

not really sure on what your talkin about exaclty, cause the lower control arm mounts are no where near the v8 mounts. chevy or a ford

I'm talking about that piece thats on the inside of the frame where the torsion bar mounts to on the bottom, but the piece runs up to the top of the frame. I don't know if I'm just explaining it totally wrong or what. But I measured the motor from the tranny side to the back of the motor mount, and its lining up really close to the part I tried explaining above.
But I am swapping out the whole front and running tubulars so I guess Those mounts don't really matter anymore anyways.

raise the v8 over the engine bay, roll the mazda out from under the engine and roll in a 50s chevy truck. Install engine and enjoy!
