I have the same problem. I was going to move the hole for the steering shaft up a couple of inches. But if there is another way to do it, I would like to know how. My Frontier is body dropped 4" as well.

Just cut your firewall.. and do the body drop like normal... then cut a circle around your steering column.. then cut out a space however much your body drop is above the circle you cut out aroudn your column..

That way when the body falls to the floor, the column will stay relativley close to the stock location.. and then you shouldnt need to modify it much.

by doing that way dusty said you will more then likely have to modify your stock dash if you are re using it....if you have a tilt column you might be able to get away with not modding your dash....but not 100%

Yeah, forgot to mention the dash.. =(
If you do it that way, like flawless said.. you will need to rebuild or modify the mount that holds the column to the underdash support.. That all depends on how much of a body drop you are doing..

or

Ditch the stock dash... go all sheet metal!!

easiest way is to leave your column in stock place, and modify the bottom half. use an extra u-joint or 2, and itll work fine. look up sterring kits from jegs.com or flamingriver.com, youll see how they do it.
