i thought i would feather it out , re-base the area and clear the whole hood. What do you think? What grit should I feather it out with

Silver is tough to match, good luck

if your going to base right over your featheredge i would do it with nothing courser than 1000...600 if you going to spray color blender over thewhole thing first....

yea feather it out with 600 and then the whole hood with 1000 for the clear...your probly gonna need to spray primer on the area though...

not sweating the match. Its actually Crystal Blue Mettallic Ford 3Q .
I still have some base and the car has been repainted so its only a few years old..

yeah feather it out, spray a little primer/sealer on it, blend the paint, and clear the whole hood.

block sand it with 600 dont finger fuckit, a little bit of spray bomb primer will be fine wet sand the rest with a block 1000 dont burn any edges, blend out on your panel tack off all the overspray and clear...thats it in a nut shell. good luck.
btw... the only bad thing about silver is it likes to model a lot, throw down a drop coat as your last coat on the base
