ok guys, what kind of mufflers and tubing do you guys use when your completely laid out and bodydropped? I finally got my truck running, got my fuel cell in and all the little stuff pretty much done, except for my brakes finished, but I need an exhaust. I got it all bolted up and coming out behind the cab, but I know the first time I drag the bucket, it's gonna drag through it.

Do I take off the pre-cat, and make some smaller pipe go under the cab and just put my muffler in line with my driveshaft and all behind the cab, or put the muffler under the cab with a turndown or what?

I would def. go past the cab, then you have room to do whatever you want with it.

Just use small pipe off the header(s) and tuck it(them) up under the cab and go from there. L8r

spin tech makes mufflers that fit great. also go to autozone and look through some mufflers. should be able to find a small one

well i found a very small muffler at autozone..

tell me if this sounds like it would work..

Take and make a new pipe with a flange to fit the pre-cat, and come under the cab from that with 1 1/2 pipe, and then set my muffler sitting tall on it's side right along side my driveshaft... and run the pipe as close to the center to keep it up off the ground.

also, do they sell exhaust hangers at autozone too?

from the factory pipe under the truck cut it off right behind the fire wall area and run 2 inch all the way back to behind the cab then put your muffler there then run a turn down and for mufflers id go with flowmaster and to make it easyer up front i ran a pacesetter header on mine mazda and as long as you run your pipes above the rails it shoudnt drag

i ran 2 inch from the pacesetter ditched the e brake cables and put the muffler right under the drivers seat. i didnt have any room left after the bag setup and four link stuff. i just leave it in gear and lay it out all the time so it doesnt move.

since you are trad bd id say try to pick up a pacesetter if you can. if not, you can still keep the pre-cat. you can run 2" pipe on it. any smaller and youd choke it down quite a bit. as if the mazdas arent slow enough already. haha. anyhow, im a fan of magnaflow mufflers. i have one on my pup and its like 3.5" thick. which should work fine on your truck as well.
