ok... im driving a 93 2x4 this winter and im debating bagging/bd it... however my question is... is there that big of a difference between the 2 and 4 wheel drive frames? i live in maine and there are so many more 4wheel drive yotas up here... if i bought a 4wheel drive truck just for the frame would it be very difficult to fab to work with a 2 wheel drive? i also have a hardbody as well and i was wondering the same about that... thanks guys...
thanks for the reply... i pritty much knew that they probably were different.. however is the front portion of the frame relativly the same? i mean most of these yotas all come with the 22r/re and have the ifs in the front is it even close?
Actually, someone on Pirate found out that the frame rails are the same. Just different suspension welded on it. You would have ot get 2WD front suspension still, or build your own, or go Mustang II. So not really worth it.
thanks seth... thats kinda what i figured... and heres the thing, i already have my daily 2wd and i just wanted to buy the other frame and then use everthing off my 2wd that i have now to put on the modded frame... would that work? how much would be involved if i already had all the 2wd suspension sutff... would the cab/bed from teh 2wd fit on?

If you wanted to convert the 4wd to a 2wd front suspension components you would need to cut out the 4wd sub-frame piece that holds the control arms the suspension obviously mounts at a lower point in relation to the frame. You can cut it all out to make way for the 2wd control arm mount and lower control arm cross-member. I recommend building a custom sub-frame and ditching the stock control arm strut-trod bullshit altogether and put some custom tube arms in their place
