yes they will it I put a factory ford one in a superduty and it let it sit for 15 seconds and then trys to start it if it doesnt start after so long it stops and waits another 15 and goes again. dont know how well they work in older stuff

I believe on most of the remote starts you can set the amount of time until it trys to start it.

yes you can install a remote starter on a diesel. The car starter will need to have a diesel mode, which most do, but what happens is you splice into the "wait to start"light in the dash, once that light goes out, the remote starter senses this, thus cranking your engine. Some are good, but some are also junk, so watch what you get.

my boss got one for his 2001 it wasnt a lot of fun to put in but he signs the paychecks so I did it. It had a key fob that matched the keyless entry one. They might sell it as an dealer accessory or the may only do it as a dealer instaled accessory. My boss is on the good side of the parts guys at our local ford shop.

Aight my speacialty lol. Yes A remote start will work on a diesel truck. I have done quite a few of them. Most remote start units have a diesel mode in them that you can set during programming. I use autopage products. I have had the best luck with these systems. They seem to hold up very well and work from great distances.
