ok this might be a stupid question but here it goes. my truck has been down for 3 months do to a wiring issue. now it acts like the timing is off. just want to make sure i aint that stupid to think that it could do this just sitting up like it has. oh uh it idles fine put your foot off in it like your tring tring to drag race some one and it spits and sputters. that might help a bit
well, that could be a couple of things...cause your truck sat for a long period of time, the paper in the filter could have deteriorated (sp) and cause clogging in your fuel system
or a cut spark plug wire can cause that too...try running some seafoam through your fuel system too....a good tune up never hurt either.....but i dont know how long ago you have done any of the previous either....good luck...
well i put new plugs in it and it runs ut nothing like it used to. and as far as the smart ass comment on chevys. i work at a dodge dealer and i am glad i do not owm any dodges. if i wanted a smart ass answer i would have posted this in the talk shit forum.
since it idles fine and cuts out when you put your foot on iti would do a fuel pressure test it should be 45 to 49 on 4 cyl`s and i would recomend doing it after the filter to see if the filter is restricting it
ok thanx guys uh my dad is goin to check the timing tomorrow but turkey drag is to close to do all that to it n like 2 days. i can drive it as long as i dont put my foot to the floor right off the light. if theres anymore ideas please keep them commin. thanx
Man i'm having the same problem bro. I have changed the fuel filter, spark plugs, and wires and it still does it when I gas it. Next up, i'm changing the fuel pump. Hopefully that corrects it. You might want to check that.
