kinda need some help with mine i figured if i could get some pics that might be able to help me out

k this is my probelm its hitting the rear quater panel my plan is to trim the back side of the door down and its also hitting my side molding which iam gona trim down tonight wheni get out of work

your hinge pivot is to far back from the edge of the quarter panel, that's why your door edge is biting the quarter panel. cut the pockets out of the quarter panel & move them towards the front of the car. also don't trim the door edge, it will make your gaps look rediculous.

How close should he get it to the edge of the quarter panel? Guess what im asking is can he put it practically on the edge and not have a problem? I kinda want to know for myself too lol.

you deffinentally want the buckets as far out on the edge as possible. the further it is out towards the edge, the better chance you have of letting the door swing out and clear its own panel.

see how this one is way out on the edge, about as far as he can get, and still have room to get a good weld.



and then with the hinges extended out to make sure they can swing.

do like the other guys said move the pockets outward till the hinge pin is about 1/8" from the outside skin.... that should fix your problem

if thats the only spot thats hitting, the old door striker hole, i would just cut it down and plate it off so it dont hit...

also the pocket IS all the way out, just not in to the quaterpanel were all the weak metal is.
