What is everyone doing on the 3rd generation s10's as far as the brake systems goes. I have heard of some people using the boosters out of metros or astro vans???? And what about the ABS box or at least i think thats what it is.Do I need to run new lines too?

hahaha, for some reason I thought this was a thread selling tires at clearance prices.. I guess that is the way you think when you actually need some tires!

to put a geo booster on im pretty sure you have to change the bolt pattern on the fire wall. but my truck ;ays body on a 20 and i didnt have to move the booster the clutch has to moved if 5 speed. also about the abs i removed itinsted of making new lines and moving it to remove it you have to tee the front lines together and put it to the master cylinder and then just bend the rear line up to the master cylinder

do what I done on the blue s 10. Get an aftermarket smaller booster and master cyclinder. I got one from a hotrod shop. If im not mistaken its like a 5" booster. You can get rid of the abs by getting an portioning valve and that will take care of the abs. Thats what i done on my fullsize.

I did a stockfloor bodydrop on a 98 S10. I did a metro booster with modified linkage and a toyota clutch booster. The abs system can be relocated easily. You just need to cut the wires on the harness and lengthen them. The lines are long enough to bend in and relocate. You should put them in front side of the motor to avoid the exhast. The clutch booster was a different size than the toyota so I had to adapt it. I wish I had used a corvette booster from devious customs but the customer was cheap.

s10s only have 2 gens, square and round

but for the booster, run a first gen 9" JM5 booster, 7" off ebay, or hydroboost. metro works but im not a fan of it. your stock master will work with a 9" or hydroboost. the abs can be twisted forward 90

Why run a booster? There are a whole bunch of racecars that don't run power brakes. If you change the pedal ratio and loose the booster you're good (do your homework first.) If you want to spend some money, you can call Wilwood or CNC and run a dual master setup with a balance bar and have a really bitchin' set-up.
