i have been thinking about doing my 99 with a 350 in it, but was wondering how tight everything was gonna be...

just look around for some of the other minis with V8 swaps, you'll probably have to remove the inner fenders if they aren't already.
I'm working on a 302 HO into my mazda right now and the sizes aren't too bad.

yeah, i already done a 3 1/4 b/d and put new trailer fenders in, but it's just metal, and all that can be redone anyway...i have had s10 with 350s but nothing to the extreme of a b/d taco...

I think I would look into the Ford motor instead. The 5.0 motors are really small in comparison to the SBC and you can get all sorts of parts for them. I had one fit completely under the hood of my "square body" Bronco II (bodydropped) with no issues at all.

fords do fit really easy since distributor is in the front. it helps with firewall clearences.

i'd personally build a 22re and boost it. still have a ton of room, badass performance and good mileage still.

it wasn't bd but i put the 4.3 in a 4x4 for a guy about 6 months ago & he had a bolt on kit for it. i noticed that a 350 would take a lot more fab work than he was willing to pay for (firewall, fenders, etc). plus it was pretty spendy for the remote mounted water pump & serpentine belt kit because it was just too damn long (unless you reworked the firewall)
i'm not saying it's impossible, just a well built carbbed 4.3 is almost as good & 1/4 the work.
i'll try to ask him how much it was & where he got it. it had EVERYTHING!! radiator, tranny x member adapter, motor mount adapters, power steering bracket & lines, i mean EVERYTHING.
good luck...
