need some opinon's here

i bought a dually (square body crew cab) that doesn't currently have a motor or trans in it. i also bought a 85 3/4 ton that runs good but the body is shot so my plan is to put the motor from the 3/4 ton into the daully to get it running again.

now to the part i'm not sure what to do. at first i thought about pulling the motor cleaning it up real good painting the block maybe dressing it up a little. then i thought i should just pull it as a unit get the daully running drive it for the summer and pull it all back out in the winter and rebuild the motor and make it look pretty then.

so what do you guys think
1) polish the turd now and hope it holds up
2) just pressure wash it drop it in the daully drive it for the summer and make it pretty when i rebuild it this winter

I would go with option 2, as long as you had plans of tearing into it this witner anyways.

I'd go with plan 2 also
only because I heared it snows in PA and working on your truck is way funner then watching it snow

im with lock... if ya got plans to tear it back down again then go with #2.....

just as long as you arent "gettin it together good enough for now so i can rip it all back apart when it breaks cause i halfassed it" then you should be fine.

thanks guys no halfassn thats for sure

i jsut figured i could use that money for other things right now the truck is at a friends shop getting the rear bagged and when i get it back i'm going to bag the front. so since the front will be tore apart to bag it i want to put all new ball joints, tie rods, slevees, control arm bushings, pitman, and idler arm so the front is all brand new

I say option 1... lol

Idk i just think if you're going to swap the motor it can't hurt to clean it up and get it in right... because if it does run good theres no sense in ripping it back apart, you could focus on a b/d, semis, paint, or something more fun
