dakota door speaker pics/ advise

i have a 98 dakota w/o the infinity sound system and i am about to upgrade my door speakers to component sets are they 6 1/2" and do i have to have some type of adapter or plate to make them fit b/c the opening in the door looks to big for a 6 1/2" when i checked the other day.. and it anyone has in pics of theirs please post them and thanks in advance

i was able to fit mine with no problems i don't have any pics and my truck is put away for the winter sorry

I have the Infinity sound system. Sounded good for a while but definately not good speakers. I got some different ones as a present last year for Christmas. I got a free install at Circuit City and they had the adapters to convert from the Infinity to regular speakers. I didn't see a way to do it without the adapters, the hole is to big.

ok... well thanks for the replies.. my stock speakers sound pretty good id say i have run sub test through them b4 just to see what they would handle and i have abused them and not one has blown i geuss its just luck

o by the way i just checked curcuit city to see if they had the adapters and no luck where else can i get these?

some speakers need them and some don't. I know alpine speakers come with the adapter. ttry to find an oversized 6&1/2.
