if it is just a single coil for each plug there 15.00 bucks new on ebay just to help you out .. i got all 8 motorcraft coils shipped on there for about 120 so check into that if it's that

Are sure the coils are burning out? I had a problem with my 01' Super Crew running bad and it was all due to the spark plug boot under the coil. At about 100k the boots weaken and moisture gets in there and cracks the plugs. The Ford dealer told me it was a common problem so I just bought new boots ( about $50 for 8 of them) and it worked great. I haven't heard of anyone having problems out of the coils itself. Hope this helps.

THANKS GUYS FOR YOUR HELP...MY COIL PACKS ARE BEING MELTED AND CRACKED AS IF A POWER SURGE OCCURS.IT HAPPENS WHEN I DROP MY RIGHT CORNER OR HIT MY BAGS FAST SIDE 2 SIDE USING NITROGEN. DUDE I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM AND I'VE HAD THIS RIG SINCE JUNE 02. THE FIRST TIME THAT IT HAPPENED WAS ON SEPTEMBER 8,2006. I,VE PUT 2500 MILES ON THE TRUCK SINCE THE FIRST TIME I PUT IT N THE SHOP FOR THE PROBLEM AND THIS LAST TIME. I HAVE THE 4.6 MOTOR AND 2 COIL PACKS 1 FOR THE LEFT 4 PLUGS AND 1 FOR THE RIGHT 4 PLUGS

I know this is old, but im bored. Anyway mine had done that before on the Explorer. All I ended up having to do was put another ground on the engine itself. For whatever reason the factory grounds either broke or just werent working any longer. My gas mileage went to crap also then it ended up burnin the coils up. You may wanna try puttin another ground from the battery/frame to the engine or both battery & frame like I did. Good luck with it man.
