I got a hole saw that attaches to your drill just smaller than the opening and drilled it out...it cut it off all around it and then I cleaned it up with a reamer.

i built a puller for these bastards on import trucks...... i took a piece of 2.5" tubing, capped the end, drilled a hole in it, got a long bolt (allthread would work) like 6-8" long..... couple washers, couple nuts, wrench, impact gun is nice...

put the tubing over the bushing on the side its gonna be pulled out of, run the bolt through it and the bushing, stack some washers, nut, then start cranking til the bushing comes out....

two words...AIR HAMMER on mine i torched out the rubber on one side & it took over an hour, but to my dissapointment, there's a press fit bushing on the outside of the rubber. the heat from the torch only made it fit a little tighter. just air hammer it out from the start & save the time, headache, & frustration.
good luck...

whats going on eric, what i did was cranked the welder all the way up and welded the inner sleeve til the bushing catches fire. once you let it heat up real nice and alot of flames are coming out hit that with a hammer. pops right out and scrape the remaining rubber off with a flat head screw driver. next on the list is getting the inner sleeve out. what i do is use a sawzall to put a releif cut into the sleeve. keep the blade nice and flat and just be patient. once you go all the way through just hit it with a hammer and after a few hits it will pop right out.
