David....What are you talking about. You obviously have not ever built for SEMA. Like Gumby said, there are major out of pocket costs. NO you do not get everything for free. Most companies will give you a DEAL. Wheels, tires, stereo, and that kind of stuff is FREE. But that is not even close to the cost of the vehicle. Look at my profile at the '63 it was at SEMA. Just the way you see it there, in primer, I have OUT OF POCKET $30,000. I will have over $40,000 OUT OF POCKET when it is done. So, don't misconstrude what SEMA is about or who builds for SEMA. We build them because we enjoy it and enjoy the publicity. It ain't cheap!!!!!

If you knew anything about David at all...you would OBVIOUSLY know that he has built several vehicles for SEMA and knows very well what he is talking about. Nor did he ever say that Gumby didn't have any of his own money invested in the Taco, only that he didn't have 100g's of his own money invested in it.

I don't want this to sound like a shot against Gumby by any means. I like the guy alot and have a tremendous ammount of respect for the projects he has turned over, but I won't sit quiet when someone takes a shot at David making a claim that he in not qualified to comment in a field of which he is very highly qalified.

And I never claimed to pay a 100k to build the truck.... but your read to deaply into what I said.. Easily 100k in mods installed and completed.... everything costs money reguarless of who spent it... DIB, Seriously insane auto concepts, myself all had a ton of time into the truck and none of us got paid what we should have for the hours of labor, the travel involved and weeks away from home. The sponsors who provided products sure they got there media coverage and they should be able to right it off.. but that's still product that retails for X amount. Something tells me in that 35k budget you and those three guys get don't cut into that budget because if your salary or hourly pay did that 35k with a vehicle would not get you any were



all of us would agree that we didnt get much sleep on this build.. Sorry for the late entry I have been absent for a while.
