I have discovered that the only thing that I excel at in life is sitting on my ass behind the wheel, so I have decided to get my CDL and start jammin' some gears. Are there any truckers here? How do you like your job, company, benefits, pay? Did you start out at significantly less pay/mile than you make now after experience? Thanks.

i drive for publix supermarkets i love it dont got to have anyone over my shoulder ,we get paid per run usually has 2 or 3 stops on it avg run is 100.00 and takes about 4.75 hrs so its not to bad .we run local so its only 150 air miles so the most were out is like 8 hrs on 1 run and then come back and get another run, our guys can make up to 70,000 a yr. i heard walmart drivers do ok also but think you have to have your own truck

Sounds good. When you say "up to 70,000", what is the average? What can I expect to make? I need to make at least $40,000 a year gross to sustain life.

when i say up to 70,000, thats bustin ur a** the average is around 55,000 but you can pretty much write your own check ,just depends on how hard and long you wanna work and how good you are at finding the stores. they give us maps of all the stores so its not like its hard oh ya by the way our top guy has already made over 100,000.
in my best trucker voice" see you on the flip side"
