I have an 04 GMC Yukon with Bose. Is there any problems replacing the factory unit and installing aftermarket? I got the wiring harness. I had heard there might be problems because of the amp with the bose system. Anything I need to be aware of?

As long as you got the right harness you should be fine. Just make sure you hook the amp turn on lead up!

IF you have just a $20 harness you probably have the wrong one. THe harness you need is about 50-75 I think. It allows you to keep the door chime and intergrates your amp.

i got the $20 harness. I haven't heard anything about the other harness. i just don't want to degrade the integrity of the system.

you will be fine on the $20 harness its just some scam that places try and sell you one with the door chime and all that shit. Only problem you might run into is onstar if you have that. you have to either wire around it or get the expensive harness but if you wire around it, it wolt work.

I don't have onstar/xm/gps or any of that. i wish i did and i wouldn't need to replace anything.

It's not a scam if you remove the radio you lose the door chime unless you relocate the radio or use an adapter with it built in.

to me 50-75 bucks for a door chime when your headunit will work with a $20 harness is a scam. but thats just me.
