i have a dakota i need my wheels to camber some more to clear fenderwells. i already have drop tubbular uppers. most people tell me to cut and shorten them but i barley clear the tires for turning as is with my 5in b/d and if i am right shortening the uppers will make me loose more lift.any suggestions?

mine are shortened on my 99 and I still clear my tires.

Shortening your uppers shouldn't make you lose lift. Shortening the lowers would make you lose a little lift. I would just shorten the uppers a little.

thanks for the input i will just shorten them then. you got any ideas on how i can get more lift? if i put the slam 7in lift in the front how much more lift does it give you then the 2600 conitechs?

I know with the slams you get 8 inches of stroke. I'm not sure what the stroke of the contitech is but i don't think it is as much as the slam.

thanks man i guess i will order a set then so i can try to get a little more lift

Shortening the uppers won't make you lose lift alone, but changing them would affect balljoint angles right? Not sure if you are taking that into consideration at all, but maybe something you should check.

i would just cut the ends off and then either thread and tap them for adjustable end links like a 4 link has or weld a sleeve over them and thread that and run beefier threads.

yeah they are already adjustables so i am just going to cut them shorter then just thread them back in and bolt down.

shorting the uppers will make you loose lift. the ball joints will lock up. How much do you need the wheel to come in?
