so i have a 98 f150, and it rides like shit in the back. its very stiff, i could probubly feel a dime if i ran it over. i am running a parallel 4 link with the bags over the axle. right know i have some crappy chassis tech shocks that dont seem to do much of anything. if replace them with better shocks will my ride quallity improve? And what shocks should i get?

Bags over axle is just the nature of the beast I wouldnt think changing shocks would dampen the ride that much.

With the bag over the axle you have to run alot of pressure to get the desired lift making the bag tight and stiff, also with not having very much weight in the back doesnt help either.

I would say move the bag onto the bars so the higher pressures arent needed for the lift so the bag can flex more and smooth out the ride.

ya, thats what i was thinking also. i just dont have the time to tear it apart and redo it right now. and it will be a while before i will be able to. so i was hopeing for just mabey a little bit better wiht some new shocks.

shocks will not change the ride. go get like 500 lbs of something and put it in your bed. that will help your ride until you have time to take it apart.. just kiddin. heres the easiest thing to do, add 2inch spacers to the top or bottom of the bag. that way ou wont go as low, but your truck wont require as much air to get the same lift, and therefor making your ride softer..

would it still lay out. because we all know which one is more important.

I think it has more to do with the weight than pressure. The bags are rated to handle a heavy load, but the ass end of a truck is only a fraction of the design weight. My bag over axle rides like shit too, but gets up to ride height with about 20 psi in the bags.

ride with less pressure or get some sleeve bags and put them over the axle. the double convaluted bags are made to work better under a load or leverge. put a sleve bag on and it will ride like a ford caddy

Get some sleeve bags and be done with it... just have to change the mounts and limit the bags with the shocks and you'll have a 10x better ride.

ya i ride with the back at 25 psi.

yep sleave bags will give you alot better ride than buying new shocks.
