Here is the story..

When I got the truck, there was already a hole in the canister..

On my gastank, where the sending unit goes in, there was no seal on that part of the gas tank when I got the truck..

I have been driving the truck around with no seal for the sending unit.. and the hole in the emissions box with no trouble.

Yesterday I put the seal for the sending unit on the tank.. and drove it for a while, then noticed that gas started leaking out through the hole in the emissions box..

Could putting the seal in the tank cause pressure and therefor pushing the gas thru the lines and out the hole in the box? Think a line could of been kinked and it not of effected things until I put the new seal in?

Is there even suposed to be that much gas inside that box? I thought it was for fumes only.. The hole is on the side, towards the bottom of the box.. I had it tied to my frame with the bottom up.. and the entire thing was filled with gas..

I was going to go patch the hole and check for line kinks and see what happens..

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

I'm patching the hole.. and while the resin is setting, i just bypassed and connected the two gas lines together and left the big rubber hose open.. I started the truck and let it idle.. no CEL or sputtering or leaking..

I guess I will see what happens, I will keep yall posted.

What you did was pressurize your fuel system and the charcoal box w/ the hole in it recycles "vapor"

The canister is setting on its edge sideways from how it sat from factory.. Ziptied to the frame.. With the hole on top.. and the lines going into the box tilted toward the bottom.. Gas had to be pushed into the can to fill it up...

So, gas goes into the tank from BOTH lines and evaporates thru the bigger hose?

Or does one line put gas in, and the other take gas out?

And it was cutting out a backfiring all while the gas was leaking thru the hole in the canister..

I bypassed the canister today.. and just hooked the two fuel lines that were going into the canister together..

While the the resin that I patched the canister with is drying... and with the lines hooked up like that.. It is still cutting out and backfiring a little bit.. wtf?

I'm gonna hook up my patched up canister tonight and see if it fixes it..

Okay, so the canister is patched.. and sealed.. hooked it back up and drove it around. It cut out about twice during the first two miles.. Then straightned up for the rest of my 20mile trip..

I duno..

you still have the bracket that the can was on before. I put mine behind the notch the same way it was mounted before. Extended the hoses and no problems. It was my dailey driver for 5 months.
