Have access to a Mitsu 4G63 motor and turbo kit. Has anyone installed one of these in their truck? Will it hook to the factory 5 Speed, does it need an adaptor, will the side ways motor work north/ south? Any help is appreciated. thanks!

I have "heard" it will bolt to the trans, but I would also assume that is only the models with the mitsubishi made 2.6 liters. I wouldn't think the mazda 2.0 and 2.2 motors would use a trans with a mitsu bell housing pattern????

Could be wrong, but if it fits any mazdas, it would be the early 2600's.

Yes, the transversley mounted eclipse motor, could work in a fore aft installation. It has been done on at least one mitsu truck that I know of.

I do know the B2600 and B2200 tranny is different, at least the bell housing, but i'm pretty sure its all different. I know one of the Kia motors will bolt to the B2200, or u could just get a B2600 tranny and fab up all new mounts.

it has been done in many mitsubishi trucks, but will not even bolt up to the 2.6 mazda with the mitsubishi motor, only the g54b starion motor will bolt up to that trans. the only trans the 4g63 will bolt to in a truck is the 2.0L mitsu tranny

Since I've done alot of research on the subject, I'll throw some of it out to clarify.

If you want to run a 4G63 north/south here are a few things to know. There are two different bellhousing patterns in the family, a wide and narrow. And 4G63 that comes out of a car will be narrow for a generalized definition. As for the the D50/Mazda trannies you'll have to adjust accordingly. The B2600 (not an B2600i) manual is a wide pattern, an auto from a 2.0 D50 is wide, a manual from a 2.0 D50 is narrow. So, if you want to use a 4G63 out of a car, 1 or 2g Eclipse etc., then you'll need a manual out of a 2.0l D50. You can get wide pattern 4G63s as well, and this is the better route to go. The B2600 tranny is much stronger than a D50 manual, most guys can only get the D50 tranny to take 250 hp reliably.

Hopefully that helps some, just a brief overview.
