Crossmember?

Any ideas on a crossmember for 96 sonoma that i am putting a 350 in?

cross member for what? trans?

yes i am putting in a turbo 350 trans in and i need a crossmember that dont hang below my frame.

put your truck in the air, measure the from the ground to the bottom of the trans...keep that in mind.

Make get some nice thick dom tubing run it from frame rail to frame rail with plate stock on the ends.
Make a template of the trans mount and cut it out of 1/8 to 1/4 weld it to the tube, make sure to gusset it.

Under the plate on the tube, weld some angle to the frame with gussets on each side for strength.

Drill some holes and you got a home made trans cross member. Not too hard.

is the mount different? i never really looked at mine yet but i think i talked to a few people and they used the stock mount and just weled the driver insted of bolting because the bolts drag off
