my cadillac is smoking

anyone know whats wrong, if i drive my caddy like for 20 minutes or more, i park, then the radiator like spews and smokes, its winter time so i dont think its getting to hot but why would this be happening, my temp guage doesnt work but its still a standard v8, should be cooling fine, nothing is out of place, it has plenty of water, over flow is good, what should i do? thanks.

check your fan if its electric, thermostat, if thats not it your water pump is bad

mine did that in my accord...my radiator was shot..got a new one..put it in..it was fine!!!

I vote water pump or thermostat.

damn, is ther any way to narrow it down to either of the three? radiator, thermostat, waterpump?

most likely the thermostat is stuck

1st make sure your fan is working, if so go to next step. Take your thermostat out and drive your car 20 minutes or however long it usually takes to overheat. If it does not overheat, go get a new thermostat. If it still overheats, its probably the water pump.

Take the radiator cap off.. start the car.. look down into the radiator after it warms up... and see if the coolant is moving..

That is, if you can see down in it.. My old chevy ya can.. I don't know about those new fangled fancy cars..
