i have the 1991 2.3 5 speed transmission. Trying to get the damn transmission out and it won't. I got all the bolts to the motor out, speedo cable, crossmember bolts, clutch cable, and shifter out of floor, and all other wiring crap. The damn thing just won't pull out. I have engine supported and transmission on a floor jack and it won't seperate and pull apart from engine. Any suggestions/something im missing.

try recomecting just your clutch and push it in a few times, may help to seperate from the pressure. you may have to rock the trans. all over the place and support the front of the engine up to help with actually pulling it out.

Gunna need some wedges. I had the same problem with mine, wouldnt budge. So I took a few wedges, threw them here and there and it popped right out.

there is a locating pin thats probably keeping everything from seperating. if you are under the truck looking at the rear of the motor it is about at the 11 o'clock position. just wiggle the tranny to get some space between the motor and bell housing. then use some wedges or a couple of big screw drivers. be carefull not to screw up the bell housing surface and work it out a little at a time. keep moving from side to side and it will come out. if i remember right the pin is about 1/2 inch long.
