In my 1997 Astro I cut about 2 inches out of it. You will have to take it to someone that can weld Aluminum. also you will have to shorten the oil pick up or it will press againist the bottum of the pan if you don't cut the pick-up your motor will go boom.I have had mine welded for about 3 years now.

Fuel Cell what I did is when we built the frame we built a spot for the fuel cell behind the read end and set it in the frame rails. So if I ever get hit in the rear the frame rails protect it. Then we sub floored over the frame rails put a fuel door in the floor. When I fuel the Van I open the rear door then open the fuel door to fill it.I was going to mount it inside but in a crash you do not want gas all over you. I know some guys like to put them in the stock location but I could not on mine because it is Pro Street and it would of only gave me about 6 gals of gas. also I shaved the gas door.
