for some reason every time i turn on my headlights there is a pop thru my stereo. never bothered me but now i put my subs in and its loud as hell. Any time i turn on my headlights or i turn on my highbeams it does this. Anyone know what it is? i was thinking a ground problem but i wouldnt know where. Its a 91 full size but has the 96 style front end. thanks!

check the connections on the wires on the radio. i used to work in a garage and ud be amaized hwo much hacks people are soemtimes hookin up radios hookin up wires wrogn when there color matched im nto sayin your a hack if you installed it but check the connections and seeif there loose. and the neg wire on the amp make sure it is on bare metal when grounded and is the ground wire less then 3 feet long and heavy guage wire?

i am using all large wires. even when i didnt have the amp hooked up it did this. The ground wire is about 10 inches. i will look at all my wires on back of the stereo.

Your problem might be in the radio. If it is an aftermarket, chances are the ground outputs are blown. Check your ground at the radio, try grounding the radio to metal in the dash. One other thing, check all grounds under the hood, make sure they all got hooked back up after the swap. Sorry for the novel!

it is a piece of shit boss cd player... i was thinking about checking the ground wire, and re grounding from the metal on the back of the deck to the body. shit is annoying.

Is your deck spliced into the wires coming from the dash or is it actually clipped in? If there spliced then your truck could have a wire running from the dash that has to do with your headlights, in my accord its red with a black line running through it and if I were to hook it up to my power it would cut out the sound when I turned on my headlights.

Never installed a boss that within 2-3 days the customer was back wanting it taken out. Don't worry about going to the chassis on the radio, the black wire is fine. Did you by chance have the rca's plugged into the amp and radio before the amp was grounded.

He was having the problem before he put in his subs, and even if, I ran my ground wire last in my 90 accord, not saying you dont know what your talking about, just curious as to where your goin with that

If the last thing he hooked up was the ground on the amp, it could have backfed through the rca's to get ground. Since the stereo would of had the closest ground. It could have hurt the head unit.

Make sure you your dash light dimmer wire that comes off of the aftermarket plug you bought for the radio it will be orange/white make sure it is not touching any thing that is grounded sometimes this is overlooked and check your grounds if your ground is bad even at the battery the switches will make the popping sound that you hear all that is a ground loop (lower voltage in the ground somewhere on the truck0 just doublecheck everything hope this helps!
