As of last August, I dropped my truck, USED (in good shape) cab, and 2 brand new doors off at Mind to Metal in Spring Texas.
Why? To get to the point, I got screwed over from a shop. I never noticed how much bondo was used on the cab for the chop, until Gator Drag weekend when by bed hit it and a big chunk fell off of it. Also, inside the door jams and behind them the suicide doors looked horrible, as BOLTS AND ANYTHING LAYING AROUND THAT SHOP was used to weld to my 400 or 500? suicided door hinges to hold them in.
Well that was the past and this is the present. Just like you guys, I for one do not want to have such poor workmanship on my truck. Therefore, I talked to the guys over at Mind to Metal and the following will happen:
3 inch chop top (not as low as it was)
Suicide doors
Truck being tore down to rolling chassis
Pinch weld being folded over for an extra 1.5 inch bd
Since they already did a ton of frame work to stregthen the durability of it, they are only redoing the cab mounts, z, and some other things.
Painting the frame
Bodyworking the whole truck
Painting the truck a dark red kandy
Also, since the fenders were bondoed to hell, I don't feel like redoing the front clip, so we are putting an 03 and up Chevy HD front clip on it.
I cant wait to see how it turns out, as this shop does some pretty bad ass fabrication. I will keep this thread updated with new pics as much as possible. Back in August I took some pics and took some more today. The outcome and workman ship won't be the same. Comment away guys!!!
For those who might remember this truck
