So I just got to the point today of mocking up my yota clip on my stckflred ranger frame, and ran into the problem of the driver side wheel cambering too much in and hitting my brake booster. It seems like the lower balljoint is binding and wont let the wheel have anymore positive camber. It also seems like the yota clip is a bit skinnier than the ranger clip was. Has anyone else who has done this ran into these problems? I know I could get a smaller brake booster, but Id prefer to hear other solutions if anybody has any ideas. Thanks.

use an s10 upper ball joint or pie cut teh upper arm, the upper ball joint binds out b4 the lower. we had the same prob on gumps truck. it is a lil bit skinnier but since you building a stock floor frame that shouldnt be a prob

Right, its no problem at all getting the clip on there, Im just curious about the brake booster mainly, and by pie the upper arm you mean cut it and let it bend then weld it back in right?

ive seen frenched in brakeboosters where they recessed just the round part into the firewall and didnt cover it up. that way all they had to worry about was clearance of the tire to the resovoir. which shouldnt be a problem. i would suggest a 7 inch booster off of a geo or whatever they come off. if its still trouble maybe try recessing it.

Relocate the booster and mod the pedal. Its easy.

Ok. I took the booster off and got it out of the way. Now my main problem is how much camber the truck has. The balljoints are binding up and the uppers wont go on. So I need to fix the binding fo the balljoints. Im not familiar with teh yota clips so any help will be mucho appreciated. By the way Im running a 15 inch with a 70 series tire, so its about the same as a 20. Let me know. Thanks guys.

Nocody? I need to knwo how to fix the balljoints from binding out. Should I consider doing drop spindles or can I do it without excessive camber on stock components.

dads friend who used to build hot rods and rat rods and he told me that they used to rotate them 90 degress and make a new bracket and o r turn them around recess them into the firewall casue its only a vaccum

Hydroboost. No more nasty lookin booster.

If you needed to, the yota clip would be really easy to widen or narrow. Just section out the middle crossmembers. But if you havent built your frame yet, I'd build around the clip so atleast the stock yota steering linkage would work.
