88-98 gmc 1500 y pipe!!! HELP!!!!!

ok i have a 97 gmc 1500 and my stock y pipe crosses under my tranny and hangs almost an inch below the frame but there is not enough room to make it tighter to the tranny! How did everyone else run theirs? thanks in advance!

there is definalty room. you have to section the drivers side pipe and flatten the center under the tranny.

ok so section it and reweld it. and then just beat the y pipe flat? cuz with just a static drop i already have tore holes in it! thanks

just take it to an exhaust shop, and tell them what you want done, 1000s of people have exhaust like that.... on my truck it was ran farther back before it crossed over, and eliminated the catalytic converter.....

I ran mine further back, crossed it by the yoke and tied into the pass. side.

i usually have it bent and ran forward towards the crossmember thers a big gap right there then crossover in front of the flywheel then recconnect it to the factory spot on the exhaust , any exhaust shop can do it for you , i got a guy that does them for me it works really well unless its a five speed

after dragging through 2 of them i finally just took the time and ran it further back and i havent had any problems since

that's what you have to do, i'm running 2&3/4 with a stock floor BD and haven't had a problem since i did it.

i had mine run down then forward toward the front crossmember, theres a gap between the low part of the oil pan and the crossmember where it went through, mines stockfloored 3" i had to go to like 4 exhaust shops before one would do it for me, but it came out good.
