First question is there a way to put an automatic transmission in a 95 Isuzu that had a manual transmission in it? Second question how hard is it and what needs to be changed to do this on the motor ex.. flywheel? Third question does anyone know if they ever made a automatic transmission for the pickups or will I have to get one out of a Rodeo and will they bolt up?

I have an isuzu motor, automatic transmission, full wiring harness minus the headlight/taillight pigtails, rearend, and drive shaft for an 88 isuzu pick up if anyone is interested...

not to knock, but why do you want an automatic?

the biggest thing will be getting a flexpate, and an automatic tranny driveline. ive never worked on a 88 and later truck though. so i dont know if the drivelines are differnt from the autos and manuals.

personally id stay with the stick. less stuff that can go wrong. but thats just what i think.

Alright dude. Mines a 2.6 so there may be some differences. On mine, the things that needed to be changed are as follows,.. the radiator, the ignition, the trottle body, the flywheel, the crankshaft bearing needed to be swapped for a sleeve, and the ecu, the automatic shifter and linkage, and the wiring harness. Now I want mine to look and opperate like it came from the factory as an automatic. If I didnt care, I couldve skimped on some swaps and just rigged it,..like instead of swapping the radiator, you could put an external cooler on for the tranny fluid. and as for the ignition, I couldve left it but the truck wouldve started in gear and the key wouldve been able to be removedwith the truck in drive. In the case of the 2.6, my driveline bolted directly up with no modifications. Check out my pics I have up on my profile. As for what farmerjoe64's statement, by taking the clutch out of my truck, I made plenty of room for the wheels to go. Plus, driving the distances I want to just got alot more comfy. You are going to have to find out if they ever offerd a 2wd automatic version of the 2.3 Hit me back if you have any q's I didnt answer. L8R, Sponge
