2nd gen front end on 1st gen ranger?

I am looking for a ranger for my next project. I like the 89-92 style but if I could find an older one it might be smog exempt by the time I get done working on it. In vehicles 24 years or older you can have a carbed engine and don't need all the smog stuff, and this would definetly make the 5.0 swap less involved. Is the sheetmetal the same? Is the 89-92 grill a bolt it and whats needed?

All you need to do is get fenders, headlights, grill and hood and they all should bolt right up, you might have to change the core support too but im not sure...

I actually like the older front ends better, the phantom grills look awesome.

u dont HAVE to change the core support, but itll make it easeier. also,find try to find a diesal one if even for just the cab, automatciall exempt
