I have a 96 excab 1500 coming into the shop soon and I need to get it to lay on 20's. Fronts bagged already, but dont lay for shit. I could figure it out with some investigation, but Im sure you all would know the best way to go about everything and it would be quicker. Need to know about everything, what needs moved what shit to use. etc, etc, etc. Any info will help, thanks.

BTW: I usually work on 30s-50s hot rods at the shop, been a little bit since I bagged a truck.

check my profile, layin out on 20's is pretty simp, if it's a manual you cant french the wireing harness like mine, if it's an auto you can cut it out and move it up. (because no clutch master) thats about it for the fire wall, on the frame you need cut for the tie-rods.......wait a minute are you B/D it or just layin frame?

for 20's u need to notch your frame for your upper arm and maybe pie cut the top arm but its up to you. notch the frame to clear the rods too and make u should clear a 20" wheel
im not sure about the firewall. since mine was cut out and redone with sheetmetal before i ever bought my truck

IT ONLY HAS TO LAY FRAME. Its not in the shop yet so I havent gotten a good look at what they have dont to the front. all I know is that its bagged in the front and I need to re-do it because it doesnt lay AND I have to bag the Rear. Thanks for all the help so far...

huh... you will have to notch your upper arm for stearing shaft. but no you don't need to pie cut your uppers.... unless maybe you don't have spindals

then you should not have to french anything nor cut up your control arms, just cut more out of the spring pertch, get rid of the inner fenders, move crap for tire clearence, and redo the exhaust. Should already have drop spindals on it, if not get a set of 2" drops.

Just to lay frame do I have to raise the factory tank?? I could build a raised crossmember easily, just wondering if its needed.

cut the shape of the stock gas tank into the crossmember so that u can fit it up higher into it and then plate the top of it, also ur probably gonna have to notch for the driveline also
