Hey Guys I am building a custom center console/sub box for my Dakota. I am using 3/4" mdf and I would like to make it really smooth. I planned to sand it down and round the edges. I also want to use some bondo to smooth out a couple ruff spots. The question I have is what kind of primer/paint I can use on the mdf? Will regular automotive primer/paint work? Or should I use something else? Thanks for any help.........Aaron

IT should work, skin it over with a filler or bondo and any primer shoudl work.

the primer directly on the mdf will be fine, it will just take more coats because the first few will soak in, but if there are parts that are going to have any bondo work done you should consider doing the mass of it in fiber glass and just smooth out your work with bondo, or the bondo will crack sence u are going to have subs in it
