what exactly has to be done to move the gas tank to the very back of the bed to free up some room for link bars?I know that the one cross bar has to come out, but is that all?

Well of course you will need some type of new support for it but other then just extended the hoses with worm clamps that should be all.

good, I just haven't had much time to even think about the rear of the truck. Been spending too much time and money on the front.

extended tanks don't fit between the rails. standard tanks do fit. i used large angle on the inside of my rails. drilled holes in them and used the factory holes in the tank.

so whats the size difference between the ext and standard tanks, anyone know?
all the mazdas in the scrapyard here are ext cabs and I can't really afford a new tank anytime soon.

Nathan, there are three vent tubes on the opposite side to allow the trapped air to escape when filling.
