Help!this is the problem. i checked the voltage from the battery to the starter and it reads 12.76. but when i go to start it, it sounds like there is not enough power to start it. so i checked the voltage on the starter which is 12.76. but when you try to start it the power reading on the starter goes to -0.63. i check the wire from it to the battery and there is no seen damage any ideas?

check for any ground wire not connected... or put a jumper box on it and see if it will fire up... secure all connections....

I would also check gounds, make sure that any of the wires from the battery or groung are not corroting inside the insulation.

Make sure all connections are tight. I just had this problem today. My battery read 12.6 and tried to start it andit would drop to about 2. It was a lose battery clamp. Tightened it up and works great now.

another thing to keep in mind if you ever get those pretty stereo battery clamps that look all nice- sometimes the outside will still look good and new but the inside is corroded where the post meets the clamp- wouldn't let my truck start. Had me scratching my head for 10 mins.
