i am just wondering if anyone knows anything about cutting the hood to install an engine with a blower top. This is my first time doing anything with an engine and just need a little info.

I'm sure a sawzall could cut a hood. You putting the supercharger on your stock engine or you going with something different? There are several superchargers out there you can install with out needing to cut the hood

sawzall should work fine.when your done just bolt the blower scoop on to of the carb or supercharger.

If you have access to a little air saw, i would use that first, or a jigsaw, if the sawzall gets caught it could bent the metal arund the hole, if u get what im sayin

skillsaw! Thats what i'd use if i were you. Or cut off tool. Maybe a plasma just cut inside your measurement then grind it out perfect. I think the skillsaw would work best. Sawsall would be tough i think. Thats just me though. Air driven nibblers would be awesome though! I've cut hole's in hoods with those alot and they rock!

drill four holes in the corners inside the lines and use a nice scroll / jigg saw or air saw to cut it.

Sawzalls do fantastic with big nasty cuts, but they're fucking sharks. They don't do clean nice cuts...
