need help with drive line.

I had my nissan hardbody drive line shortened an inch.I also put a new seal in it.When i drove it today it makes alot of noise when it rolls.The drive line is rubbing the metel where is slides into the tranny.

My question is can i grind off alittle bit of metel so it doesnt rubb or what thanks.
