Well, I got the new (2.5L 4 banger) in the buggy, and after getting the truck running, there was no oil getting to the top of the motor. So after a lot of screwing around, I broke down and changed the oil pump and pick up. After reassembly and much more screwing around, it seems like there is still no oil getting to the top end. Now the truck is base model as base models get. I am getting no warning lights, and I do NOT have an oil pressure gauge, I am looking at putting one on. But after a new oil pump and pick up, why would there still be no oil to the top end. Seems like the rockers are not pumping up, and with the fill cap off, it doesnt look like there is any oil squirting out of the rockers. Now, even if I do get an oil pressure gauge, and I have pressure and there is still no oil at the top....???

Check to make sure that all the oil galley plugs are in. Not sure about this paricular motor but I have seen where someone forgot to put one of the plugs in and it was bleeding all the oil right back into the pan.

take your pushrods out and make sure there not pluged thats how the oil gets to the top you might have to run some mecanhics wire through them to clean them out
