Anybody know anything about torque tubes? My '40 buick has one, and i'm not sure what if anything i need to change before bagging it...

I'm assuming the theory is same as a driveshaft, but i've heard that the rear gear lube can run to the front w/ a torque tube... true?

any other issues i should watch for?

The one on my Rambler was that way. It leaked fluid into the tube. Another thing to think about is the amount of travel you can get out of a torque tube. I could only get about 5 inches of travel before it started to bind up. I would suggest switching over to a open driveline. Check out Olskoolrodz.com, they can answer your questions better over there.

Going to an open drive shaft makes the most sence, but the closed driveline can be succesfully used. Watch out for binding of the joint and don't drive it so low that the oil not being in the rearend is a problem. Other than that they are as easy of a system to bag as they come. There is no need to re-design anything, there is nothing you can do to help out the design. Put a bag where the spring is and drive it.

I couldn't have asked for a better answer!

Makes my life as easy as I thought before I saw the torque tube...

Guess it's time to order up some bags now!

Actually, the sky isn't blue, it just looks that way. It's very technical and involves ions, wavelengths and some whiped cream...Light is actually a trip, you should look it up in an encyclopedia some day when you are bored. (I know, I'm a nerd)

the sky is blue due to moisture in the upper levels of the atmosphere (5 layers to be exact) The atmosphere is primarily composed of Nitrogen 78%, Oxygen 21%, Argon 1%, And a lil bit water 0 - 7% Didnt you learn anything in school brasky of were you too busy readin MT ?
