I have a F350 4x4 CC LB PSD duallie and I just purchased a nice set of KMC slam wheels at a truck show yesterday. The problem is the rear center caps, the caps had a little toungue on them that would hit the back of the wheel which kept it from passing all the way through the wheel. The problem is these have all broken off, the PO wrapped tape around the bottom of the cap and the tape kept it from passing through. This doesn't sound like it is going to last very long. My current caps grip onto the lugnuts so they won't work. It seems to me any cap that is meant to slide in from the back of the wheel should work, but I don't know where to find them. KMC hasn't made the slam wheels for a couple years or more. I would greatly appreciate any help from those of you who have experience with custom wheels.
Thanks

i had some wheels with the same deal on the caps so I used clear silicone to hold them in

Thanks for the reply. I would really like to get some new caps, rather than try this or that. The wheels look like they were hardly driven, just a couple small scratches that a wheel shop could easily remove, but the caps are another story. I think he had them in the back of the truck or something because they sure don't match the condition of the wheels. Maybe the folks at the tire shop will know. Right now I still have two more wheels to polish and my arm is dead!!!

Trying calling kmc. They probably used that same cap on several different styles of wheels.

The best thing to do is to get some aftermarket caps. These will not have KMC on them and they will fasten to the wheels under the lugnuts, not through the back of the wheel.

Had a customer in here a few weeks ago with some KMC dually wheels wanting the same thing. My KMC distributor laughed at me when I called asking for some dually centercaps, so we just put some of the aftermarket blank caps on it.

Yep, get the tire shop to show you some, they will have the hookup for both styles...or at least they should. If you arn't satisfied with any styles they have I can get some for you. All i need is the diameter of the hole. I am sure you'll find some though.
